I was just a little thing.
Suck and pee and poop.

The lights were dim.
The Sound was loud.
Every now and then a droop.

Wailing brought the watering.
Silence brought the dark.

Then in between
the times I screamed,
motion in my parts.

What parts was I?
A sucker?
…
Farts?

There’s a little flesh.
So a little bit I kept
and make something different out of this
bit of milk you wept.

Maybe it’s make believe?

Suck and poop and pee.
I drink the milketh that she weep

and make a me.
A make-believe.

I believe I’m making something
with all this suck and poop and pee.

Now wait. Some of that stayed me.
A little bit of that poop and pee.
Still I suck,
away I go
until I poop and pee.

The colors are bedazzling now.
The sounds are quite extreme.
The warmth is nice,
twas cold just twice,
but now I’m back to suck and poop and pee.

I see.

Fingers, one, two, three
and a thumb, I suck it.
And then I poop and pee.

Sometimes there’s milk,
sometimes a thumb,
but always poop and pee.

I waddle here and toddle there
and then my parents scream.

They set me on a cold spot while I poop and pee.

Then there’s milk I suck,
then bed.

But before then I speak,
“Pee.”

And they agree.
They set me down on that cold spot
and then I poop and pee.

They’re partying.
I just went potty.
Now they believe in me.

In my crib to sleep
I wonder.
What is this that is me?
Am I just saved up poop and pee?

Then in my dreams,
lo the thunder,
then the rains came,
then I awake in poop and pee.

There’s Mom.
She sees, I see.
I say, “Poop and pee.”

She takes me to the potty, and I wonder how to say,
“I really just need a new diaper.”

So, I just wail and sit there on the toilet thinking, I could do this if you just let me suck a little…
